If decay or damage is left untreated, it may compromise your tooth’s structural integrity, which could cost your tooth in the long run. However, you don’t have to lose a tooth due to decay or damage. Dental crowns from North Bay Smiles are the right treatment to protect your compromised tooth from infection and further damage. Once Dr. Yvonne Szyperski encases your weakened tooth with a dental crown, it becomes more stable, stronger, and better-looking—and your newfound smile can last for over 15 years, depending on how well you maintain your crown.
Dental crown treatment is a routine procedure at North Bay Smiles. The treatment is pretty straightforward and only requires at least two appointments. On the first visit, we evaluate your tooth damage, remove the decayed part and shape your enamel to accommodate your crown. Next, we take bite impressions of your teeth and create molds to be used to create your crown. Until your new crown is ready, you will wear a temporary crown to ensure you don’t feel embarrassed by your smile.
In your second appointment, we remove your temporary crown, clean your teeth and fit your new crown. We usually make minor adjustments to ensure your restoration fits well and looks natural. Finally, you can enjoy your new smile! The entire process is painless, thanks to modern anesthetics. The whole procedure takes about 1-3 weeks, depending on your availability and the speed of the dental lab.
Where would dentistry be without dental crowns? Dental crowns are always the perfect solution to restore your smile, whether you have worn-down, decayed, damaged, or stained teeth. Patients and dentists love dental crowns because they offer numerous benefits, including:
